When you have built your upgraded site in the new CMS, you will need to work out your redirects.

To do this, look at your contents and redirects tab on the live pages list in your google drive.

No change in page web address/ URL

To find out what the new url is, use your preview site (you can find this in the preview tab of your live pages document. If the new page that you have created in the upgrade site has the same web address (URL) as on the old site, then you do not need to redirect it and you can delete it from the list, examples below.

New page created with a new URL

However if your old content now has a different web address then we will need to know.  This is so that we can direct anyone who has that link, or finds it in a search engines (until the site is reindexed) to the new page.

Archived or delete pages

If you have lots of old news articles that you don’t want to move across to the upgraded site, then you do not have to delete/ unpublish them on your old site, you just list that they should now all redirect to somewhere on your upgraded site eg the news section.  Then when we swap your sites, and put live your new version, all the old pages will be removed, and the URLs will link to the the appropriate section on you upgraded site.
